Ben is the welcoming smile you’ll find coming from behind the desk when you visit the gym. He’s also our Head Routesetter! Ben’s love of sharing the sport with anyone who’s willing makes him the ideal candidate for welcoming newcomers. He found climbing in late 2018 shortly before the opening of Climb Youngstown’s predecessor company, Transcend, and has been an active member of the community since day one. Ben is truly a product of Youngstown’s climbing community.

Ben’s passion for athletic movement and adventure quickly had him hooked on the sport and led him to work towards becoming a routesetter. Since then, he’s honed his craft on our very walls, leaving countless bangers in his wake! Any time you’re in the gym Ben is there to offer customer service, beta suggestions or even just small talk!
